Digital Transformation and Information Technology (IT) Officer

To spearhead the organization's digital transformation efforts by effectively managing IT initiatives and collaborating with stakeholders. This role focuses on leveraging technology to enhance operational efficiency, streamline processes, and drive the adoption of innovative digital solutions across the company, ensuring alignment with business goals and promoting a culture of continuous improvement, while also providing IT support to business units.

Key performance areas

  • Familiarise with system components and procedures under management/NamPost IT guidance.

  • Maintain accurate records of technology-related assets, ensuring proper labelling and updates.

  • Propose and support process improvements within the IT department.

  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives in IT operations.

  • Foster a high-performance culture among team members and ensure compliance with IT policies.

  • Serve as the primary contact for IT incidents and service requests from staff and sales teams.

  • Resolve or escalate IT issues promptly, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders.

  • Manage workstations effectively and liaise with service providers to address inefficiencies.

  • Support audit processes by providing necessary documentation related to projects.

  • Ensure the operational integrity of PostFin's IT security infrastructure.

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and implement appropriate security controls.

  • Update and maintain IT security policies while keeping informed about security trends.

  • Manage user access and perform regular security verifications on systems.

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of a digital transformation strategy and support business operations to ensure system efficiencies.

  • Assist with the allocation and setup of new IT hardware, coordinating with suppliers as needed.

Educational and experience requirements
  • Diploma in information technology or computer science, NQF 7 will be an added advantage

  • Project Management Certification (Prince 2 or CAMP)

  • Added advantage: Automation Certification (Certified Automation Professional (CAP) or Intelligent Automation for Banking)
